Nascar Hall of Fame faces budget cuts

This is very sad to hear, I would like to extend our recommendation to
all of our fans to take the chance if they have it, and take this in and help propagate a wonderful place, honoring the roots of, and the successive history of Racing in the United States and abroad. The following article just posted on my news feed on the KWR Website, and is the only reason i did catch it. Most of you know that KWR had the honor of documenting Washington States Evergreen Speedway NASCAR Whelen series rookie of the year Joe Kneeland and his road to the hall of fame.The NASCAR Whelen series Home tracks division awards ceremonies were held in Charlotte, NC at the new NASCAR Hall of Fame. Charlotte, a wonderful city in its own right, its planning constituants and of course NASCAR really out did themselves in creating this building and its displays within.Joe and his Ingraham Auto Pirate Race Team, comprising of inner city youth, were given the opportunity to tour this new facility in its entirety. Myself being the videographer of the group , I have a unique opportunity to see people in the raw. With this in mind I have never seen young people from any walk of life take in, feel and learn more about racing, the people, the cars and what it took to witness racing today, as these pirate kids did. I guarantee you these young adults took something home with them that they will never forget, and will be 10 times the race team in the 2011 season for the experience. It will be a shame to see this facility succumb to the economy. I hope in writing this that the people I reach will also reach others, fans, friends & participants of course, but most importantly the people that have never experienced racing. Why? you may ask. They are the people that it is most important to reach in these tough times. The racing industry offers so many career opportunities, not just as drivers but in technical fields from the entertainment portion all the way through to the teams you see on the track battling it out on any given Saturday under the big lights.The facility boasts so many facets of the race world and its history, awe inspiring, yes. But with obvious intention, the planners of the Hall of Fame have included so many educational points. Hands on is the best way to describe this place, from the beginning of the tour to the very end. And to me, my friends that's where it starts and is the most logical way to keep racing a pastime in the United States, educating our young.

Sierra Jackson Takes the 50 Lap main event Stateline Speedway

Once Sierra cleared the field after two cautions in the beginning of the main event she never looked back and put some major distance between her and her next closest challenger.Great performance by the ASA/ NSRA group,always a thrill to see these guys and girls put it down with authority. I'll have more to come after we clear edits from the night. Good stuff for sure in imagery and film I assure you all.

The Northwest Modifieds went to a 50 50 Split main for the Gary Miller 100. KWR had 3 incars working on duty, Good stuff comin from those cameras at that show. Previews rocked! Jeff Bird Dominated the first 50 with Jeff Braton having mechanicals. After the Break the 95 came out just Flat Fast and busted out for a huge lead and then back through the pack again, achieving a pretty comfortable buffer, Bird followed him up through a full invert, but was no way over taking Braton in the Laps alloted.

ICAR had some different front runners this evening at Stateline, Chris Kellogg got an excellent jump on the field in second segment, Dan Garber was right there all night and Jason O'Neil battled in for a nice third.

Chris Drove his Butt off!! taped up Hiney and all, never gave it up all the way to the checkers after a segment 1 mishap that ended with Chris in the same spot in the end of last weeks second segment, Pickin daisies out of his grill on the back 40 of turn one.

Our Taxi man Darryl Carillio played test dummy for us all night as we had his head strapped with our latest toy "The KWR Knoggin View" LMAO ya it worked flawlessly.

Andy Brown Wins ICAR at Stateline Speedway

Andy Brown caps his night with a strong win, Colton and Danny Garber followed up to Top the Heap in the split main ICAR 70 Lapper.

Darryl Carillio colapsed after the race and had to recieve oxygen at the Aid car, we had heard over the radio a jolt had knocked his exaust loose and he was dealing with heavy fumes for last 10 or more laps.He was seen in the pits later and soldiering on to the fans. Good Job bro i know you were spinning birdies.

There was quite the pileup in the end involing Danny,Blake,and Chris ending with Chris out in the back 40 of turn one. from what i hear this ruffled some teams.

Hope all gets ironed out, It was racin if ya ask me, and damn good hard racin! Feces flies fast when your out there.... " " -Happens. Nice show guys and thanks for the work!

Kodiakweb Racing Welcomes Kyler Conduff

Our trips to the great city of Yakima has paid off in spades, not only have we met many great personalities in the racing world at the speedway, We now have a local racing personality to support and root for on our many trips planned this season. Kyler Conduff and Integrity Motorsports have formed a new

marketing partnership with KodiakwebRacing.com. Kyler has moved up through the ranks at Yakima now competing in the Pure Stock Racing Series hosted by Yakima Speedway. Kyler has had many positive achievements in his racing career. I think the capper to date would be the youngest gentlemen to achieve a victory circle arrival in a main event at Yakima. Wow! I think we have not seen the last of this kid, Many more acclamations to come I'm sure.

Here's a word from the team themselves: Kyler Conduff races for Integrity Motorsports. Kyler started racing Quarter Midgets in 2003, his last year was 2006. Kyler won championships in Jr Novice, Jr Honda as well as Sr Honda. In 2008 Kyler started Youth Hornets and at mid season made five starts with four wins and five top 5 finishes. Kyler became the youngest driver in Yakima Speedway's history to win a main event at 12 years old. In 2009 Kyler won the Youth Hornet divisional championship with seven wins and nine top 5 finishes, achieving the youngest divisional championship in Yakima Speedway history. Kyler is competing in Yakima Speedway's Pure Stock division at the age of 14 in 2010.

Kyler is attending his third year at Naches Valley Middle School. He earned honor roll recognition in the first two years at NVMS. He is active in basketball and leadership programs.He is ranked in the top 10 percentile of the class for core classes.

Kit VanBuskirk Joins Kodiakweb Racing

KodiakwebRacing.com is proud to announce our latest marketing partnership with Kit and his racing team. Open season is getting close and we will be working with Kit and his sponsors to represent both the team and INSSA through out the season. Kit is a past champion in the ICAR late model division, and has since moved up into the INSSA division. We look forward to a full season of on the edge racing with this group. For the 2010 season, we will be competing in the Inland Northwest Super Stock Association (INSSA) sanctioned events in the stock car division. For wheel to wheel racing, INSSA provides the most cost effective manner in which to race today. With the rules that INSSA has in place, costs are kept down while competition is kept high. We expect to be very competitive after winning the ICAR Late Model Series championship in 2006 with the goal of winning INSSA Rookie of the Year honors in 2010.

Sponsorship is a critical element in order to remain competitive in current auto racing. Expected expenses to maintain that racing edge include regular and routine maintenance of the race car, racing tires, entry fees, travel expenses and many other expenses.Our racing objective for 2010 is to pick up where the 2006 season ended. It took most of our rookie season to reach the consistency level we were expecting, but all in all our first year was a relative success. In the final seven races of the year, we had four heat race wins, with six top 10 finishes and six top 5 finishes, and 1 main event win. Kodiakweb Racing driver John Vallone dominates Hobbies at Stateline Speedway

We are proud to announce that KWR sponsored driver John Vallone achieved his first main event win this past Saturday at Stateline Stadium Speedway in the Hobby Stock division. He busted out on the trophy dash and held on for a solid 2nd place finish to start the evening off, the car has been performing well with a fast qualifier in the opener of the season. John ran respectably in the heat event and returned to the pits to make a few adjustments that locked the car in rock solid for the main event. Vallone stated that he could take the car anywhere on the track when returning for the main. He flat out owned the inside groove and brought his new Pontiac in for the win. After an emotional photo op and trophy presentation John was further congratualated by second place contender Billy Swift on a first rate race, John gave him the outside and Billy stated he just did not have enough in the his proven Camaro to take him in that groove, even though John gave him the outside to challenge.

Way to go John! we are very proud of you.

The 2010 Yakima Speedway Apple Cup

April 10th & 11th presented KWR with another opportunity to report on events at Yakima Speedway. We hauled the entire KWR staff on a trip west to report on the Apple Cup 2010. Yakima has become one of our favorite venues to report on racing a very press friendly atmosphere, the Yakima staff always goes out of their way to accomidate us. Both Steve and I have a ball working every imaginable angle from the pits to the back stretch. This year made it even more enjoyable swapping stories with fellow photographer Jerry Nelson in between shots. The racing itself of course was awesome, with full fields from the pure stocks and super streets. Late model entries were light, 12 fielded race ready.What they lacked in numbers was more then made up in talent represented. We are still amidst media edits but have a few of the shorter races under wrap. Look for more to come on this storysupported by our media later this week.

Greetings, Race Fans!

Here's the latest news for April 20th, 2010:

The Operator Agreement was signed at 3pm today by the Commissioners of Spokane County....YAY!!! That's the good news.

The not so good news:

We will not be able to run on May 7th and 8th, which was previously mentioned as a Test n Tune day. Repairs are still taking place and we have come to realize we will not be ready for that weekend.

Not to worry....here's the GREAT NEWS:

Our new opening weekend is slated for May 21st, with our first Friday Night Street Legal Drags, followed by our Welcome Spokane Bracket Bash scheduled for the next day, Saturday May 22nd. You are the first to hear this announcement! Saturday the 22nd will be a 'Family Fun Day' with discounted entry fees, admission and great concession prices!! Car and driver will be $25, General Admission will be only $8 and kids 12 and under are FREE!!! We will have a fun zone for the kids and musical entertainment as well. Both Charlie Allen and Ron Hodgson will be here, along with my favorite NHRA official, Steve Gibbs...so you KNOW the track will be good!

We will be running all of our regular ET Bracket Classes; Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, Bike/Sled, Trophy, Sport Compact Pro, Sport Compact Sportsman and JR Dragsters, along with the Spokane Pro Gas Association! Make your plans now to join us on our opening weekend...we cannot wait to see you there! Saturday Spokane Auto Boat Speed Show 2010

Saturday out at the Spokane Auto Boat Speed Show was blessed with beautiful weather bringing in the Lookie Lous from all over. Travis Swift of Spokane's Party Transport being the only outside exhibit was surely thankful, admirers just couldnt resist the loud thump of music eminating from within the Transport, so I'm sure some good networking took place all day there.

I have to hand it to Arin La Mountain and Travis Allen, those boys have really put in some time out there at the show, signing autographs for fans of all ages, offering photo ops, and really representing the racing community well. That booth has been manned to field questions open to close, Good Job Guys!

The second day of the show saw changes in display for a little variety in some cases. Others just flat out needed nothing to enhance proven and practiced display tactics. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top in their respective divisions.

Kodiakweb Racing staff will be back out there at 4:00 pm to take in the show and see it through to the much awaited announcement of who is the best of the best for the 2010 Spokane Auto Boat Speed Show. See ya there.

Spokane Auto Boat Speed Show 2010 Friday Festivities

I spent most of the day at the show, would like to thank Aaron La Mountain and Travis Allen for hosting our Videos from their late model entries booth. We set up or newest media server with them, it's runnin in loop mode featuring pretty close to every Late Model Race we have ever produced. I am even amazed about the length of content running on the server, it ran all day long without re looping, and I am proud to say it ran flawlessly and was well recieved by fans. This worked out very cool for us, as it free'd us up to do what we are best at and that's pounding the pavement to meet participants and report on the show.

This Auburn really caght my eye, I had missed it on move in night, always a favorite model for this reporter, Class like that is on a level un superceded by anything rolling out of factory this day and age. All the preperation of Thursday was self evident in each class of entries, all of the displays and informative interactions with contestants was above board and enjoyed. Friday afternoon is 2nd only to Thursday in the fact that the crowd is small and great shots of all the hard work are still un impeded.

Major Muscle just oozed class and power all over the event grounds, although i missed seeing a few of last years attendee's that i had favorited, they were replaced by a lot of new participants with equally flawless submissions. I gotta say many thanks to the producers and staff of this show, they have been of great assistance to our needs and tickled our funny bone on more then one occasion. That always just makes our weekend when we hit it off with event staff for good times and memories. Special thanks to Bryan Graham for a top notch show, and his hospitality in accomodating our staff.

Man I must say our Late Model boys have really been hard at work this off season, Blake Williams ride shown above just flat out had Checkered Flag written all over it. A huge well done to the team involved in setting this machine up! All of the Lates were buffed to a T with original themes for each team. All of them definate Fan pleasers and a fine example of our sport.

Old and new some of the paint schemes and attention to detail were a wonder to behold. One of our own website clients and pride of the fleet in Kodiakweb customers was in participation touting the amenities of The Party Transport Limousine and event transportation service. Make sure you dont miss a tour on this Bus on steroids, Owner Travis Swift of Swifty Swift LLC is available to guide you through the ammmenities of his service. you cant miss this exhibit, Located just outside of the main entrance.

This shot of Late Model driver Braeden Havens ride came out very cool, Braedens Dad Todd is on a torturous tour of the Hawaiin Islands and had contacted me through our Facebook to make sure I got some shots of this years contender from the Havens shop. We have a photo shoot set up for hero cards for Killer B team upon Todds return to the mainland so you'll be seeing a lot more of this machine in the weeks to come!

Well I'm going to put a wrap on my report for yesterday, I'll be soon heading down to see whats in store for us today. take a break from your day and give the show a visit, you wont regret it.

2010 Spokane Auto Boat Speedshow gets underway this weekend

News Flash! The Spokane Auto Boat Speed show has arrived for 2010 being hosted once again by the Spokane County Fair and Exposition center.

Well last year we helped out with a winner in the AJB / B&B motorsports entry and we did quite well. This year we are not formally entered but are looking forward to the show, and all the fun to be had in meeting with participants and sharing our endeavors, I think I.N.S.S.A. Representative Shari Garber said it best, "This is like the First Game Kick Off of our upcoming race season" And let me tell you it's that and so much more. Enthusiast, Promoter, Drivers and Fans all come together to promote and appreciate their respective Arts in motorsports, and hey the possibility of taking home some gold for their hard work is pretty darn appealing too!

The atmosphere even on setup night was ablaze with re acquaintances, tall tales, shared experiences and new found friends of shared interest. Entries were still arriving and the fairgrounds held witness to it's participants buffing and polishing out that final detail in display for the weekends exposition, in hopes of achieving that top entry glean and the judges eye of approval. The car count looked good with some familiar entrants, but I'm here to tell you there is plenty of new material for this show. The boat count was small, but what they lacked in quantity was well made up for in quality. Events like this are the flipside in Seattle, must be the water ratio “Laughs”

Our Lead photographer “Nitro” Steve was in heaven with all of the drag race entries, Lisa of course the total late model enthusiast, Me I enjoy the effort behind each and every entrant, but I must say the Oldies are my thing. Didn’t see my favorite 34 ford coupe there yet, it was a show stopper last year.

I'll be heading back early in the morning, we are going to donate our media server to the Late model group to run some good old KWR films of last years highlights in Late model racing here in the inland NW. Thanks guys we know you like them and we are honored to share your endeavors and help attract new fans.

We would like to thank the staff of the event for accommodating our personnel on short notice, we were well received and enjoyed the ribbing shared upon entrance, I am going to have to make sure those morning coffee's are good for the girls managing the check in desk. It's a rare opportunity and a privilege to be able to shoot these cars UN impeded by crowds. I have included a little teaser in photo’s, more to come. We look forward to reporting events at the show and sharing to our readership. We will keep this article running as a thread through Sunday so check back with us often for new content. However nothing beats being there live so we really recommend attending this show, old customs, new customs, oddities and one of a kinds, Yes and in force, was really proud to see almost all of our race divisions well represented.

2010 sees first practice at Stateline.

Well, a light winter, the off season flew by for us. I know to most of you the first days of racing cannot happen soon enough, and it seemed like an eternity for most. Me, I never have enough time in the day so I take what I get.Steve and I attended the morning INSSA meeting held out at Spokane's FastKart. Very cool to see everyone after the off season. Commital count looks good, with a lot of eager drivers, they will be sporting an interesting tire rule change. That change will be a fun factor to watch how it's played.We then headed out to Post Falls, Idaho, and dropped in on Stateline Speedway's first open practice. Rich Hatton was out with his returning championship car and it was turning good laps. I believe I saw the Rupert clan out in force as well. More trickled in as the day progressed, some early stocks as well as streets. Our highlight was when what I'd call a slick little Baby Grand arrived for some laps. All in all a great day, out and about with our race bretheren. Good times.
